Kathmandu. Himalayan Distillery Limited has been supporting the community in the fields of education, health, sports, gender equality and environment as part of its corporate social responsibility.
At the same time, Himalayan Distillery has provided Rs. 25 lakhs for Samata Educational Guthi from the budget that was allocated for the educational sector in the fiscal year 2077/78.
84 schools are run by Samata Educational Guthi across the state in which educational programs are running from class 1 to postgraduate. Guthi claims that around 70,000 students have benefited.
It has been informed that this Guthi will pay Rs. 100 per student per month educational fee for the disadvantaged sections of the community, children of daily wage workers, orphans and street children who are being taught.
During a program for Samata Educational Guthi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Himalayan Distillery, Akhileshwar Prasad Singh, in the presence of senior artists Madankrishna Shrestha and Harivansh Acharya, handed over a cheque of Rs. 25 lakhs to the founder of Guthi, Uttam Kumar Sanjel and the director of Guthi, Dinesh Sanjel at contact office of the company, Jawalakhel.
Chief Executive Officer Mahesh Prasad Pokharel and Company Secretary Nisha Niraula were also present in the event.
